I wasn't joking.
Soo; You're coming!
Soo, I bring a big drill, a chain and a lock for a wooden shed.
Soo, I will fix your doorlock-problem in no time!
You buy me a beer afterwards for the excellent job!
That's where friends are for! B)

Re: Z-doorhandles and other stuff
Bart, aha....but from whom did Alfa steel them (or are they chromed plastic) from ? Another Alfa ?
Y'day while visiting Luzzago* & Bresciacar (of course in Brescia) I saw many car doors, Ital & others, but none similar to the 1600 Z handle; I will keep on looking.
* Funny, but all Fulvia were parked outside, under a roof...none were in the showroom ?
reports from both locations "things are slow" !

Re: Z-doorhandles and other stuff
the reason why Fulvia´s parked outside is : mostly they are running and
it is a mobil not an immobile.B)

Re: Z-doorhandles and other stuff
ok, it isn't a fulvia, but is is a boxer & mabye this weekend I'll uncover the fulvia Z from chicken-dung & hay bales & drive it to where the below shown little white wisperer (opposite of screamer) is parked & finally measure & compare the headlight surrounds & then we will know (what we know) ..B) whatever that will be......

Re: Z-doorhandles and other stuff
wunce again Tim is correct !!
I have finally 'side-by-side'parked my Z & my Ami8 today & measured the dimensions of the headlight surrounds of an "1each Citroen Ami8 with Fulvia Z headlightss" & an "1each Fulvia Z with Citroen Ami headlights".
Today was, finally:
"fire up & drive the Z to where the Ami8 is parked" day & "motivate the "detailing task force" to begin detailing the Ami8 for old-car exhibitions & for light road-use" day*".
*54,oookm - in the hands of a (by now) older woman - in a 35 yr period do not equal much road use per year.
Less than 2,000 for some year for some years and far less per year in recent years.
Results:
Fulvia Z runs fine, as always. Detailing it for 2009 will start next weekend. It hasn't seen use this summer, because we have not had a summer until the last few days !
Ami8 had many little matters attended to today & looks a lot better for it. Also, it smells like sealing-wax inside & outside. It is amazing how much dust old seats trap & how musty the interior of an old car can smell; even when the interior is as dry as an old bone!!
Results of Measuring; Z headlight surrounds are wider & higher that Ami8 headlight surrounds..
Yes, the 'overall-optic' of both is quite similar.
However, the Ami8 fender top, being horizontal, follow the line of the headlight glass horizontal top & bottom line; which looks 'quite proper'.....
Whereas (as you know) the Z fender is a sculptured-pieces of finely folded art work that follows no mans horizontal line, nor any other line.... Aaahhh, how ahhh...ummm; yes, "how delicate" !!!

Re: Z-doorhandles and other stuff
Hmmm, John
That'll cost you:
Primo: for telling the world the Z has the same headlight surrounds as the Ami
Secundo: for buying an Ami in the first place!
(and Yesssss, I saw TopGear this evening - and Nooo, I still not convinced for buying one!)
-D
Needless to say you have to come to the French Weekend! B)
