Oh no not Gamma a. i. again!

Unread post by lanciagarage »

Why do we get this drivel on this forum???????? What has this got to do with Fulvia's or Lancia's for that matter

Gamma a.i ......... ???????

WE really don't need this.

"R. d. M....Si; I refer to BB. VNB: I remember going to look - a lot - at VNB when VNB was being built & finally riding across - very scared - Dad driving, shortly after it finally opened (very very late & very very over-budget).
Very impressive & very long. As is the GWB.

I like TBB too, almost as much as 59th Street / QBB (la la, la la feeling groovy); which is my favorite NYC Bridge.

Do I miss NYC ?? Does the sky have clouds ??

some text in (partial) German:
Ah yes: der gauntlet has fallen; die fisted-ham has meet das velvet-glove. We met-in-der-mitte preis-wise on the Ami8. In 10 days it will become our latest car-child. All involved is too busy to do it quiker.

Parents Pay Attention: If JJ's grades don't meet every1's expectations I'll buy the shovel recommended by Chris & drive the Ami (which is, by the way, german slang term, harmless, for "American") myself.

I pray that this will not occur !!

Echo: Should the minniest motor / 18HP Zitron 'D' actually be offered at the-price-after-repairs- that we envisioned...we will buy it too; don't ask me why ! Well...OK, I'll tell you. The price would be"the cost of any repairs required to make it safe" (safe for a D, that is)

here is a funny website: [snail.s4.bizhat.com]

Phil

I thought South Africa was renowned for tollerance?

Its not as though much is going on on the forum.

Lets hear about your latest Fulvia exploits/issues/tips etc.

Kind regards

Tim

PS Fulvisti are generally into weird and wonderful engineering stuff and definately not MoR (middle of the road).

Hi everybody,

have a nice day & smile.

R. d. M certainly understood what I was referring to & the message was sent specifically to him, for him. If it is understood by others (or not) is not of great importance.
No one make anyone read what they don't wish to read. Except in High-School !

However, by explanation & to be clear, the abbreviations in my latest posting all refer to Historically Important Bridges, to a New York City'er & will be understood by R. d. M.
Anyway, its just some 'home-boys', 2 NY'ers - 1 in NY & 1 in Europa having fun, so please don't become upset.

We, the NY Home-Boys, understand what I was writing about,

Is it Lancia related ?

I say yes, since we both drive / own a Fulvia. In my case a Fulvia Z, as well as other Lancia (benefit of living in Europe). Yes, I own & drive (more & more) a Gamma as well.

PS: I am in love; Gamma are special !!

PPS: My Fulvia is too precious to park in the sun & the rain every day !! My Gamma, well, it hasn't visibly suffered yet !

I will hereby ask R.d.M. to tell us (again) which Fulvia he proudly owns (I think I remember it being a Coupe); so the Fulvia connection is confirmed.

I would like to change back to 1 of my former monikers for this forum (Fulvia a.i. Claire/ Fulvia a.i.), so I can post as a Fulvia-Boy, but I don't know how. So, maybe G a.i. G I will stay !

Although I realize that this is the Fulvia Forum, I also realize that it is more !

It is a circle of friends..many of whom I am proud to personally be aquainted with, totally via this Fulvia Forum.
& many who I have not yet had the pleasure to meet.

So, if & when I post more non sense or total sense on this forum, as G i. G, it is totally in friendship.

I will be the 1st to admit that I have used this Forum to easily / painlessly correspond with friends about other matters that are important to us & perhaps not important to everyone who reads the forum.

I will be the 1st to admit that the replies I have received on-many a subject, Lancia or non-Lancia related-are worth gold !!!

When I return home to NYC again (to gaze at the bridges & visit family) I will certainly visit R.d.M, who I would not ever possibly even know existed on this planet, were it not for this Forum, I will meet a new old friend, He can show me his Fulvy; I can show him photos. Brooklyn is also famous for good beer !!

Finally: my circle of friends is small; I cherish those I have.

John,

By all means, carry on conversations and friendships on the Forum. But here are a couple of thoughts: non-Lancia and/or non-Fulvia ramblings are probably better posted in the forum "01 General Lancia discussions and forum messages" than in the Fulvia forum. At the very least, it would be more considerate to start a new thread, so that posts about bridges in New York don't end up hijacking a thread about a Fulvia Sport in Manchester.

Re: Oh no, not more Bridge Songs

Unread post by gamma a.i. »

http://www.ny.com/transportation/crossings/...should anyone care to know what the abbreviations meant .

HISTORICAL NOTE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE:
Simon & Garfunkle ( 2 nice Brooklyn boys) recorded "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin Groovy)" in 1966.
In this thread I referred to this song when mentioning the 59th Street bridge. What does the song have to do with Fulvia ? Simply Nothing. But it is a nice bridge, none the less.

What does the song mean ? Who cares? ; it is a 'just for fun song'; which is somewhat akin to owning a Fulvia, which is a "just for fun car" Or not ?? . Mine certainly is !!

----------- ------------------ ----------------

hijacking is punishable by law :D.

my my my folks, please remain calm. things will get batter, they always due.

trace back to where I joined this thread (I just did); it was intended as a 'fun post' & it was Fulvia connected.

Lulu replied (thank you) & off I / we / you went; downhill all the way (& having fun).

Now we are here. We are still talking & ..in my case..felling groovy.

At some point I had an 'internal back & forth thread' with both R.d.M & LuLu.; which is legal.

As this thread developed (deteriorated ?), please note that I often integrated "Fulvia" (oops, I did it again) into the text, in fairness to this thread. &/or responded to a Fulvisti's comment (oops, I did it again) / question.

And, in order to maintain an "International Flair" I mentioned fantastic bridges elsewhere than NYC.

Perhaps R.dd.M. can take a photo of his NYC located Fulvia on / near a NYC bridge, so this thread somehow becomes unhijacked & I can come out of hiding;).

Comunque, I appreciate everyones comments & certainly enjoy reading them.

Should anyone else determine that they wish to post -some / any- history, culture, news...about anything at any time, that POTREBBE ESSERE of interest to anyone else who reads this thread, even if is just plain old fun, I (four won) will be a more avid reader than I already am.

& will be, spero, a better person for it.

and, anyone can, at any time, unhijack this thread by posting a more Fulviaishy reply that is, perhaps,in actuality not a reply to any of my posts or any one elses posts or the posts related to my posts, whatsoever and so on & so forth.

Comunque: Have a Nice Day !!

Re: Power of the Forum - Z headlights Z door handles

Unread post by lancialulu »

Hi all

Just a general note as to how forums can be v usefull.

John's post on his Ami 8 possibility with (Z eyes) made me realise I need to look for Ami 8 head lights for my Z rather than the concave equivents the adorn R16/12's

I am now the proud owner of a spare glass found on ebay for a quater of the price of Z head lights seen elsewhere!!

DOES ANYONE know what car Emile Spada borrowed the door handles from for the 1600 sport????

Best to all

Hi Guys, maybe I was just having a bad day.

I have always enjoyed this forum, especially as I am fairly new to the world of Lancia. But.... in three years my colllection has grown from one series two, to an additional series two, powered by a 1600HF motor and a series 1 which needs lots of work. I have also started a members workshop facilty (the Lancia Stable) where several lancias are undergoing restoration. (a 1937 astura, a 1965 Flavia, another S2 fulvia, a Delta 1600HF turbo and a Beta HPE). To see more about what we're up to, go to the Cape Lancia club website, www.lancia.za.org which I administer and click on the Lancia Stable link

I have learnt so much from this forum and was just finding that some of the new posts seemed to have very little of interest to me. I know I am not the only reader and can pick and choose what I want to read. Huib however upgraded this forum in the not too distant past and included the wonderful option of "Private messaging" and I would have thought that this would allow the option for personal and non-Lancia related topics.

Anyway, yes, we South Africans are very tolerant and I will just ignore what is not of relevance to me.

Apologies if I ruffled any feathers.

By the way...... If your Fulvia starts running on 3 cylinders...... even after checking for spark and appears to be lacking fuel, replace spark plugs before you strip the carbs and check for blockages. A new set of plugs cured the prolem and removing and stripping the carbs was totally unnecessary other then honing my techniqie and speed at doing so. The strip howver was not in vain, I discovered something vey strange. The main jet in one of the carbs (42mm Solex) should be a 90 jet. In one of the carbs this was correct, however the other carb had a jet/screw with no aperture whatsoever!!!!. How could the car have run as well as it did????????????????

Phil old friend, you can read, sorry..I mean write-- whatever you want !

Speaking only for meself, I will read everything posted herein; regardless of who writes it... &...if written in response to any of my ramblings (fine, taught & snappy prose that it is :D) I will take it stride, no matter what is written.

I should & will take it in the fine sporting-spirit it is intended to be taken; I will also accept any due criticism when due & dismiss it if I feel My Integrity (as an expert on all things under the sun) blah blah etc & so forth.

Anyway, some day I intent to visit RSA, so I want to assure that we stay Fulvia friends before my plane ever touches the tarmac !! I'll leave my bridges at home !!!

Z-doorhandles and other stuff

Unread post by Bart Verbeek »

The 1600 Z doorhandles are the same as the Alfa Junior Z. I don't think it will get them cheaper.... :(
The numberplate-light is also used on a Hanomag. Rear lights are from a Peugeot 204 coupé (not the sedan!) for the S2, for the S1 the rear lights are equal to NSU ones. The front blinkers/park lights are from an Renault 12.
Daf has a simmilar switch as the switch for the rear window and the rear windowmotor is also common by other carbrands but which one I lost..... :S I think it's all penned down in a book from Wim O Weernink but not sure of it. Almost the same as a coupé. ALMOST! I think it sounds great in Italian, because they do it all the time. :D

Bart

A mine of good stuff there!

Cant believe Z did not borrow door handles from some lowly car like a Morris Marina for both FS and AJ??

Any one have any more info??
