i have seen this type of bushing before, mostly used to correct any difference in bearing sizes. not a good solution IMHO. just hardening a new pin is only part of the answer. you also need some sort of bearing surface as well. i might suggest boring the arm and pressing in a bronze busing as well.

look at Fulvia register running nr. 19 with new end @zf.com instead sachs.de.
