Andreas,
Thanks for that. Now seeing where your car has it positioned I have had really good look at my car, and there is the remains of a welded bracket about in that position. Sometime around the mid 80's mine had an alarm fitted (as the owner said " it was used in Rome"!) and the alarm siren was positioned just above where the filter would be. I think they have cut off the bracket and moved the filter - although I have to say it looks more accessable. This puzzles me because as I previously said, under the current location the undercoat is exposed ?? Is this the undercoat I now ask myself - but that is a new thread!
Is the bracket on you car welded to the front chassis member ?

Re: location Fispa Fuel filter/regulator
Many thanks for everyones efforts. As several pictures (I found some myself) show the location is indeed on the rh chassisleg on the inb side just above the ovalshaped pressing in the leg. A small angle is spotwelded on. fitting of the filterunit is by 'cage nuts' (square nut in a cage with clip that fit the rectangular holes in the angle.). Strange thing the parts list does not show this installation.
