location Fispa Fuel filter/regulator

Unread post by william »

I wish to upgrade my S1 coupe 1200 fitted with Dell Orthos's with an original Fispa Filter/regulator as was standard on 1300S, GTE and first 1600HF's. Can anyone send me a picture of an original installation so I can fit mine correctly?

William
I have some photos of this arrangment you can look at

http://geocities.com/neil.cundy@btinter ... index.html

Look in the general photos, there are two that show the fuel filter. If you want some more let me know. The fixing is vis nuts and bolts (not a tapped hole ro captive fixings)

No I'm not sure. I have photos of several different cars - some have it here others in other positions. I have some old brochures at home, I'll see if they give any clues. I have no reason to suspect my car has been played around with but one never knows.

William,
I cannot find any pictures in my literature, nor are the TAV's any help with the positioning. I have had a closer look at my car now I am home.

The filter is the same part number as that in the TAV.
There are no other holes in the engine bay on that side that would take it.
I have removed mine to get the shell painted and in common with all the other underbonnet equipment, when removed it reveals the silver undercoat which suggests that it has almost certainly been there since build.

I am not sure that there is a "Lancia position" in the sense that you mean. I suspect it is one of those items that Guiseppe put here and Giancarlo put there !

Not sure I can offer any more help but good luck !

I tink that it was Umberto who mounted the unit on my 1.3S, 1970 model (!) Sorry William, I cannot remember the exact position, but it was just above the beginning of the diagonal box section that runs down to the forward sub-frame mount (carburettor side of course). Roughly where the air horn pump is fitted on some S2 1600s in fact.

William,
though I have a Zagato I think the lower chassis parts are identical with teh Coupe's - mine hasn't been tampered with so I figure it is original: the fispa filter is located lower than on Niel's pictures, just slightly higher than the fuel pump. I can take some pictures in 2 weeks time and send them off if you like. Let me know too if you need the filter unit.

Look´s like original for me
