because _ carburetor PHH -E2 are mounted on the car, I replaced the needle valves (1.3) by 1.1 (provided in the repair kit) to test ... and surprise the car no longer works well: holes acceleration. This is not the same problem with other carburetor (PHH19). So I handed over the original 1.3.
Conclusion: Maybe you should set the carburetor to a specialist with the engine used on the car?

I did not really understand your last message. In general, the older the Solexes are, the better their quality is. The 818.303 engine should have 1.3 needle valves correctly set up. A good carburetor specialist should be able to help you, Andrea.

Re: Carburettor for Fulvia
Hello thank's for your answer.
I want to résume what I want to do.
I have a fulvia sport 1.3 S with old engine 813.303 and with carb solex c35 phh- e2. The car goes well without problems.
I have prepared a new motor as origin exept hc pistons from CPS. and I want to have a spare carbs révised to that motor. I had the opportunity to buy old one and try to renovate them. A couple of PHH19 and a couple of PHH23. I wanted check the revised carbs on my car before monted on the new motor. And the two couple of PHH19 and PHH23 don't work well with the same problèm.
Why on the RT of fulvia we have for the same engine 818,303 many solex c35 from PHH7 to 24 with some change jets and only PHH21,22,23,24 use needle valve 1,1 all the others use 1,3 ?
I thought a origin motor with original carburetor should work.. If it's a prepared engine we need a change of jets, I think.

Re: Carburettor for Fulvia
The changes in Solex jets/needle valves were introduced at a later stage of Fulvia production, primarily with the aim of reducing fuel consumption/emissions. Some of those carbs were intended for berlina's applications (engine 818.302). If you have access to the technical manual, you should be able to rebuild a pair of carbs according to the original specifications. I repeat that the older Solexes (35 mm Venturi) were the best. Hi Andrea. You and I know that. We old guys grew up with carbs and in particular with Solexes.
Gabs110 is probably at the start of the learning curve. Nice. I have given him the email address of our friend also in Belgium, who drives a Rallye 1.3 Grigio Vinovo, happens to be a professor and knows quite a bit about carbs.
