Piston Liners

Unread post by jensen »

The strip down of my seized 2.8 is nearly complete at last except for a few stuck pistons. And I very pleased that the reason for the seizure appears to be the stuck pistons only!
They knock out eventually with a liberal dose of penetrating concoctions and a block of wood. On two,the piston liner came out with the piston. My questions is do they require any sealant when replacing them? or are they just held in place by the cylinder heads? I believe they sit slightly higher than the top of the block?

Thanks Brian

I think there's a very thin seal under the liners (paperthin)
