sludge in the oil

Unread post by Garry »

Hope you can help. I have replaced the head gasket twice after having the head reconditioned (PULP) and crack/pressure tested (twice) but I still have a creamy sludge and water droplets in the hose between the PCV and the air cleaner housing. There is also sludge on the dipstick. None evident in the cambox area. Strangely when I drain the oil and replace the oil filter there is no evidence of the sludge. I am losing coolant very slowly - no sight of a leak, and the engine is a little rough on idle and on very light throttle. Carburrettor recently reconditioned. There is no evidence of bubbling or oil in the coolant and the car does not run hot. The car is strong and pulls easily up hills and accelerates freely. I feel confident the head gasket is doing its job. Is there another area that can allow water to mix with the oil? A crack in the block? through the inlet manifold???? The car is driven each day a short distance to and from work (20 minute trip each way). Longer on weekends.
This is my third and most troublesome Beta Saloon. Any suggestions to tame her please?
Thank You - Garry
