driveline shunt
driveline shunt
I'm told that the driveline shunt (engine moving backwards and forwards when letting clutch in and out) on my HPE is normal - is that the case. It's pretty severe. You get used to it driving but it scares the pants of anyone who borrows it. Won't new engine mounts help?
Re: driveline shunt
Gary,
If the mounts have been replaced and its still 'shunting' then there's a problem somewhere. If all mounts and bushes are in good order then there should be very little driveline shunt.....

Re: driveline shunt - check the subframe mountings!!
Hello Gary,
The worry about this is that it may be the subframe that is moving! I'm sure you know the legend.
Jack up the front using the standard jack points and see if the subframe hinges downwards.
Good luck and fingers crossed, Leo

Also check the condition of the two dampers that are present on the Beta it has one ar the Engine end of the Drivetrain package and one at the Gearbox end. If these dampers are worn out you will experience severe shunt.
