What the spec (apart from a modern alternator !). Looks very nice. Where is Peter based now - when I last met him he was in Birmingham, but that was years ago.
Peter Gerrish now resides close to Winchester UK. He has rebuilt over 200 Fulvia engines now but enjoys sorting out classic motorcycle reciprocating devices as well.
I will endeavor to find the cam profile specs but today I spent far too long changing an oil sensor on my little Audi A2. The dealer changed it 3 years ago but today I discovered the dip stick tube support was broken and glued up because the tube had been bent - so much for 90GBP/hour main dealer servicing!
Meantime general 1600 spec : original works spec rally sump with extra baffling for circuit racing, lightened crank, std mains, std but oversize pistons, gently ported head with std HF spec valves, uprated valve springs, kent plasma hardened cams with performance profile, Twin Weber 45s on the alloy manifold, Electronic ignition based on std 1600 dizzy retaining points should it fail, NGK racing spec plugs.
Very nice, I didn't know that Peter was still in rebuilding engines, I last saw him in 1988???, he had a small camper aswell in those days, succes looks beautiful, nice colour of your car, love it, Henk
Hi Guys, If anyone knows how to get hold of Peter Gerrish, I would appreciate his contact details. A very good fiend of his here in SA, Peter immelman recently passed away and I'm sure he would want to know
Managed to test run the car today - oil pressure around 4.5bar at 4000 rpm. Seems very free to rev although I kept it well below 5000 rpm with run in 20/50 oil.
Booked for MoT on Thursday.... but I have other problem - see handbrake post.
