it could be a Fulvia::o

Unread post by gamma a.i. »

reading about this 1 off car it states that is it powered by a Lancia 1.8 V4; howver additional research show a flat Lancia motor, dual-carb hidden in the back.

what a lovely after Fulvia Lancia it would have made....but we got Beta'd instead.

too bad the N-B never was built i series !!!!!! 40+ yrs later it is still stunning !!!

The description says the engine is a 1.8L Lancia, but doesn't say anything about being a V4--obviously a Flavia unit.

tech specs read, as do various texts pertaining to this Gem:

Engine Configuration V
Cylinders 4

another text reads:

initial idea was to use power plant from Flavia V4, but production was ending so several others were tested.

I ask:

Flavia V4 ?

I can not remember which car was being referred to...perhaps a Fer BB...but I think I remember remembering reading "this boxer motor is actually a 180° V engine ... or a similar text.

I, of course, had (have) no idea what was meant. I have not lost slip over hit !!!

Ed...now the (roll drums, blow horns) $64ooo question: what do you mean by 180 V ?

As I understand it (which may well be imperfectly), if a 'flat' engine has con rods on separate crank pins it's a 'boxer'; if opposing con rods share the same crank pin, it's technically a 180-deg V.
