Lancia Fulvia 1600HF Lusso-1970

Unread post by nuvolariveloce »

Hello guys,

I just purchased a 1970 1600HF Lusso. The car has been sitting for a couple years so it shall need a full mechanical restoration, but structurally the car is sound save for some outer sill rust. The plan is to revamp the car over the winter with plans to have it on the road by April. I am enclosing a couple pictures of the car as well as an actual road test of the car I found on the internet. Many, many thanks to Ed Levin for all his invaluable assistance during the purchase process and for all the excellent references he pointed me towards during the purchasing process. I'll document each phase of the restoration and post pictures as each system is completed.

wow, I am looking forward to this project (I don't have to pay for it !) & lots of details, data, cost-sheets, fotos.

some day we all may be there too & this is need to know good info.

I remember speaking to 'John of lovely S1 Z Fame' at the Be-Fr Rallye 2 yrs ago .. he with tears of sadness & laughter in his eyes... as he described, in painful detail, the "minor-chassis-works" he had just had done at Huibs shop; Johns final words were "there is never any minor work to be done on a Fulvia, so John (me) "be prepared".

Hi guys,

I am resending the photos. Hopefully they shall appear this time! I'll definitely be taking many photos of the process from the individual parts to eventual reassembly. It shall I am sure be painful at times as my wallet is eviscerated, but hopefully with an ending to be enjoyed!

Sorry Guys,
For some reason the pictures are not loading. The pictures are appearing on lancisti.net so one can see the car there. Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong? I simply am hitting attach a file and uploading the requisite file.

Hi guys,
Glad the pictures can now be accessed. By the way the new "Thoroughbred and Classic Cars" magazine has a great article on Lancias, but for some reason they left out the Fulvia!

Pazzo, the US is one of the worst places to look for a 1600HF; there are probably less than a half dozen over here.
