flared arches
Re: flared arches
I got mine from Cavallito, €360 for a set of 4 normale (not Gruppo 4) arches. I started with Ebay but I only ever saw 1 tatty set go through and they reached about €150 so I went for new.
There's nowt cheap about these cars !!

Re: flared arches
I'm afraid Neil is right
Those plastic bits are so expensive and I've not seen any cheaper than those Neil quoted.
When I bought my car the seller also threw in a spare set but I forgot them - ouch!
Every time I come to Italy I ask my cousin to get in contact with the guy but never round to get them. He also threw in a roll cage - what a dummy I am!
If you think those are expensive then you should look at those wider group 4 arches that they fitted on the competition Zagatos and on G4 cars - now they ARE expensive I'm sorry to say.

The first question is: do you need plastic wheel arches? It seems to me that you'd be spending money only for aesthetic effect--unless you modify the wheel wells themselves, the arches won't even let you run wider tires. (Which leads to the next question: do you really want to run wider tires?)
Now don't get me wrong--aesthetics are as good reason as any for spending money, but it sounds as though you may have higher priorities. If you really want the arches, you'll likely have to come up with some serious money; I haven't seen a set on eBay in quite some time. If you do decide to acquire a set, make sure that the price includes the black rubber gasket that fits between the plastic arches and the bodywork. Otherwise, you'll have to pay even more to get the arches to fit right.
Glad to hear that you decided to keep the verde dublino, and that it's running well.
Cheers, Ed

Re: flared arches
Replica flared arches can be bought in standard and Gr4 at www.fibercar.it
Look for codolini. prices are 150euro for a set of 4. About 50 more for international shipping.

Re: flared arches
And a days work to get them to fit, William! They are a pain, they crack if you hit anything (which you do with these wide ones). Fibercar makes them of glass fiber. That is the reason. I have used these and later used black plastic ones. Those fitted right away, and would not brake. Not so cheap as I recall.
Re: flared arches
I have fitted the fibercar ones to a zagato and they seem very though. they flex but do not break. Crashing will break them but then so will the black originals.
Personally i'm looking for someone who has or can make me a set of the factory aluminium codolini used on the 1200 and 1300 hfs.
see:http://www.lancia-club.nl/jml/index.php ... Itemid=209
scroll down to picture 3 and 4.
they are rivetted to the side of the wings as well as the lip itself. The top row of rivets is then covered by a rather ugly black rubber seal. which however is original so I would fit it.
The shape is different as to the 1600's.
Any tips are appreciated.
regards,
William (1200HF owner)

Re: flared arches
William, my only comment would be a simple plea to keep your 1,2HF as is, rather than to do a Gp. 4 'conversion'.
We're losing almost every Strato's stradale to ersatz Gp. 4 conversions, to the point that the value of an unmolested Strato's stradale is now skyrocketing. The same thing is happening to too many Fulvia Fanalones--I'd hate to see this start to affect 1,2HFs as well.

Re: flared arches
Point taken,
Thats is why I will only budge for the correct accessories. My plead for keeping lancias original is known by people who know my work and my car.
I think that for example at the moment there are maybe more Fanalones than that there were built in 1969 and 1970. Definitely the numbers of 'original' works GR#4 cars is larger than when they were current. It probably has to do with the crazy prices asked and payed nowadays for anything with Palmares. Yesterday i paged through a Dutch classic car cataloque of 1998. Top values for 1200HF, 1300HF and Fanalone were as follows: 13.000 guilders, 15.000 guilders and 24.000 guilders. (The official conversion to euro's is 2.2 so in euros 5900 for the 1200HF, 6800,- for the 1300 HF and 10.900 for the Fanalone.
A lot has happened in 9 years....!
Some months ago my dream came up for action on E-bay. A never raced, nor modified in any way factory spec 1300HFS. Even the carpet and headlining were still in place. All accessories were installed by the Squadra corse department in 1968. Not suprisingly it was sold days before the action ended.
This car I would rather own than every 1600Hf upgraded to Gr#4 spec some 20 or 30 yeras after they were built.
The aluminium flares are official parts mentioned in the spare parts cataloghe. For me this is a borderline modification as my car was never fitted with them. But they look so Good!!
