The Italian workshop manual shows a neat little tool for this, but I was wondering if anyone knew the dimensions involved?
Although, it seems to me that the tool doesn't really directly measure what's most important, that is, the level in the float chamber ... it just indicates when the inlet valve opens.
So I suppose I could re-phrase my question as: what is the correct float chamber level, measured, say, from the top flange?

Re: Float level setting
Peter, I have the dimensions and have made the tool. I used it in my workshop for many years. Unfortunately, I am currently working away from home and will not be able to access my drawing for a week or so. Send me a fax number and I will send you a copy when I can. (I don't have a scanner)

Tony, thanks so much for the offer. As it turns out, another forum member contacted me directly and I now have the dimensions. All I need to do now is make the tool!

Re: Float level setting
Can you send me on these details also? I'm about to embark on a carb rebuild.
Re: Float level setting
Hello,
I'm also rebuilding my pair of solex 42 ddhf, and have some problems on adjusting.
I wonder if the float level is good but dont have any datas.
Tony or somebody else , could you also send me the datas and:or the scheme for the tool ?
