Alameda All-Italian Car Show report

Unread post by Peter Cripps »

This event is held every year on Alameda Island, just across the bay from San Francisco. Very low key, no judging, just a relaxing day looking at nice machinery and talking to owners. Over 100 cars this year, everything from a Fiat 600 to a Lamborghini Diablo, with numerous Alfas, Fiats, Ferraris, etc., in between. And of course Lancias ... actually 4 Fulvias were present, 3 Sport Zagatos and 1 coupe (mine). Photos at

The last photo isn't a Fulvia of course, but it's not every day you see a 1955 Aurelia Spider!

Nice to see an american zagato with the sealed beam headlights. Is Jaan Hjorth the new owner of the 1200 Zagato which was for sale on ebay some weeks ago or the seller? I recorgnise the car by the missing paint behind the rear wheel.

Some Lancia's at least. The spider is indeed nice.

I used to go to Alameda to buy discus fish. That was some time ago. The Fulvia 3 was still in production then

Peter, thanks for posting the pictures!

Very sorry that I wasn't able to make the event. It's not everyday that you see 4 Fulvias together (at least in this area) and even less usual to see Sport Fulvias outnumbering Coupes. And are all surviving Zagatos blue?

William, Jaan Hjorth (www.eddinsmoto.com) is the seller of the early Zagato.
