Fulvia 1300 HF

Unread post by Phil »

I've recently purchased a Fulvia, which at first glance appears to be a late (1972 Registered) series 1 1300. The car was to be a donor for a series 2 that I have but now appears to be a promising restoration project as all the parts I was looking for came as extras in the deal. (aluminium doors, bonnet, boot, brand new engine etc etc)

I noticed on the engne plate that the Model is 818361 and according to one website this belongs to a 1300HF. RHD.

Is there anyone who can verify what this car is:

Daihatsu SA Plate Lancia Italy Plate
Model: 818361 818361 - 009664
Job No: 262
Chassis No: 473 Eng No: 011009

Hello.

The "engine" plate. Do you mean the chassis plate?

818361 is a RHD S1 Fulvia 1.3S I think. The engine should be marked on the bellhousing 818303 followed by the serial number if the car is a 1.3S. All 1.3S series one cars were fitted with oil coolers which is an additional clue.

1.3HFs (880 built) were all built in 1967/8. Their number is 818340 and the engines are numbered 818342.

I believe that Daihatsu had a contract from Lancia to assemble cars - in South Africa, so this may be a SA car as the SA suggests.
