I would like to know if somebody has ever tried to fit a Flavia 2000 engine in the front of a Fulvia (Zagato)
I know the subframe is about 5 inches longer at the front as the front enginemount rests on the front transverse beam. A Fulvia subframe might be altered by replacing the fwd transverse beam centre section by a new beam under the old beams location so the engine can sit on top of it.

Re: Flaviablok in Fulvia
Yes this has been done.
I saw the car myself at Fulvia 25 at Goodwood in 1988. It was what I call a "knife-and-fork job" and I think that the front of the ar had been weaked by the amount of metal cut and/or removed.
Nevertheless I think that it could be done; the main problem would be the radiator; this could be solved by using motorcycle radiators with fans fitted behind the headlamps with air ducted form the tops of the wings. Or a large radiator could be fitted into the boot, suitably ducted and with a big fan.
Another problem is the very limited ground clearance which would limit the opportunity for a decent exhaust system.
With a substantually lightened flywheel (essential) a 2000-engined Fulvia could be very quick I think - use the 2000HF gearbox. The 2000 would be helped with gas-flowing paricularly on the exhaust side. I am sure that with a pair of downdraught 45mm Webers and the head work, that the engine should give an easy 160HP and with plenty of torque to match

William,
You wouldn't believe it, but there was just one built here in Holland. It is a completely newly built coupe with the 2000engine. It is 95% finished and for sale(forced). But lhd of course.
