Hello,
still working on this fulvia (as every one of us I guess)
today, an urgent point (I have to tell to the paint "artist") : could someone give me a ref (lechler ?) for the cromodora fitted on my 1st serie ? well, otherway it would be a neutral mettalic grey, but I would prefer to be exact (as the body itself is also grey Grigio escoli)...
Thnak you
Thibaut
I 'll have a post concerning my brakes : it is decently deccelerating for the moment, and not leaking too much !! I am on the way to a huge braking at this rythm !...
Color ref for cromodora
Re: Color ref for cromodora
By the way, would i put a special primer on these special wheels before (they are actually "micro blasted" with a bit of the original primer)
they are so light I couldn't believe it once the tyre and tube separated !!

Blasting magnesium wheels
I recommend cherry pit or walnut shell blasting for magnesium (and aluminium) wheels.
See a.o. www.roadsters.com/wheels
You could also polish them. A lot of work but very very beautifull.

Reminds me of the story:
Mechanic to customer: "I couldn't fix your brakes so instead, I have made the horn louder."

Re: Color ref for cromodora
Paul, terrible sense of humour, congratulations
don't laugh about my poor progresses on this car, soon i will get a decent braking system (one day ??)
or will I have to fit a whole brembo serie "Oro" specially adapted to the car, to stop the car immediatly, way before your special prototype (what a car !!)
by the way, if you are in need of my special dot 6.6 mix (you know, my special home made wine), I will have you some bottles specially, if you are kind enough to give me more details about these fascinating cars .
concerning wheels : yes, I blasted them with a special ultra fine glass "sand" (white and dry aspect), so fine you can choose wich layer of paint you let on the wheel
will anyone suggest me a ref color ? (excuse me to repeat), now they are almost bare...
Tyres : i finally found some yokohama S 306, unfortunately in 185 70 13, but H speed : anybody has an idea of the quality of these tyres ?
brakes : I guess i will have to repeat the operation of taking out air bubles, and wait for the brake pads to wear a little against the disc... at least the system goes back and seams ok...
thanks again, see you,
Thibaut

Re: Color ref for cromodora
Hello,
I am pleased that you are making progress with the brakes; I expect that you'll get there in the end.
Yokohama tyres; I have found these tyres to be excellent in general - I do not know about the S306 specifically), but I have experience of The A509, A520R, A539, A008R, A032R and am about to order some A048Rs. You might say that I am a convinced Yokohamaphile!
As for my car, what would you like to know? You can email me directly, or you could start another thread, if others are interested.
I have just fired up the engine (this evening) after a rebuild. I have further modified the second of the two heads I have, with very large valves and some Group 4 camshafts. It sounds very good but has a shocking oil leak which will be fairly easy to fix I'm glad to say!
