flavia headlamps

Unread post by Hein Reedijk »

I am the proud owner of a flavia berlina 1.8 1964 which is in a very good condition.
The only problem (at this moment) is that it wont pass MOT because of corroded headlamps. These were made by Carello. Does anybody know an alternative?
Certain headlamps from Fiat maybe? Please reply.

The units conform to a sort of industry standard for headlights. If the head lights are original, they have "Carello" written in Italics. These are the old duplo units.

If you don't necessarily want duplo units and don't mind switching to units for H4 halogen bulbs, it is easy.
In Holland your best bet would be Hella. I forgot the partnrs, The importer of Hella in Holland is Sluyter BV, 030-6095611. Ask for Jan Miltenburg. He will be able to give you the partnrs. Tell him you need H4 head light units for a Lancia Flavia, which has the same units as the Lancia Fulvia and with the same size / mounting system as for BMW 3 series. Also remind him that you need two units with the small extra bulbs for the parking lights and two units without those extra bulbs.

They can't sell to you directly, but with the partnrs you can go to almost any car parts shop.

Unfortunately the lenses are flat. The light pattern is made by the reflector. The flat lenses do not look as nice as the original convex lenses. They work very well though. Fortunately they do not look as bad on a Flavia as they do on a S1 Fulvia.

If you have the partnrs, can you post them on this board?

Hein,
As you are apparently living in Holland.
Did you try Martin Willems 0591-352212
Last year he still had original Carellos on stock, not cheap DFl 120 a piece (and you need 4) but then your fully original
On my Flavia Coupe I have SEV units with halogen bulbs, not original but at least
the glasses are round

We use a modern Cibie lamp, (stock item) but may also have the Carellos you need.

Thanks very much for your reply. Could you tell my what exactly SEV units are, and where I can purchase them (in Holland)?
