Triple carbs
Triple carbs
I have a 59 Flaminia Zagato 1C that I am considering converting into a triple carb setup. I have heard that Lancia "approved" of this modification back in the day. Does anyone know whether this is so? And if it was an approved modification, what parts were upgraded by the factory other than carbs/manifold (e.g., heads, cams)? Thank you, Lynn
Re: Triple carbs
Apologies to this list as i noticed the "monocarb" thread after my own posting. I understand the pros and cons and appreciate the parts guidance, but am still curious whether this was an "approved' modification. Thanks...
Re: Triple carbs
Hello Lynn,
actually an early triple carb kit was available for Flaminia Zagato of 59-60-61. All I know is that the three carbs are Solex, instead of the Webers of the later 3c. This conversion kit was available at Lancia Dealers in those years, and it's really rare to find. Anyway, it wasn't as performing as the Weber standard "3c" one. Italian "Ruoteclassiche" magazine test drove a Flaminia Sport with this Solex kit in April 1991 issue, but didn't write that much about the kit itself.

Re: Triple carbs
Hi,
I agree with you Corrado,
The three Solex fitting, is not interesting , because it's very difficult to synchronise ( coordonnate ) these carbs; and the three Webers is better choice for a Flaminia.
