I believe it is impossible to get a Lybra for the USA. This simply because you have differrence between the gas immissions compare to european cars such as lancia which are not sold in USA(I'm sure BMW sold in europe have got differences with those sold in USA).Also bumpers normally are design in different way. But for example you should search on the internet: for example I know that an american company called Delta imports Alfa Romeo which are then modified to respect the USAregulations.

Its true that Autodelta in the US is importing Alfa Romeos. They charge a lot, and only
sell the GTV, Spider, and 166 with 3.0L engines. I think there must be an easier modification
process since the GTV and Spider were designed with the US in mind, and the 166 is based
on the 164 (which sold in the US).

The emissions of a European car must be able to pass US regulations. I've heard that Euro
standards are closer to California standards. The bigger problem is getting the car DOT
certified. It would be difficult, but there are some companies on the East and West coast which
specialize in importing "grey market" cars.

I do have a friend who could smog it for me "legally....." Also my insurance company are idiots, they have my Scorpion insured under a Fiat 128 because they dont know what a Lancia is. The vin # is there but it says "76' 128" So from this I take it insurance shouldnt be an issue. The part I dont understand is getting it on to a ship from where ever. Getting it off a ship from where ever and getting it home. Thats the baffling part. Are there not companies that provide this service...get you through the customs and all that jazz. I know if you are military you can import easily. I see so many beautiful imports here in Las Vegas.

I think you could do the importing fairly easily, or this would be one of the more easy parts.
You'd have to research this, but I was told there was a new law that said you could import
any car as a 'show car', and that it would even allow you to drive it up to some small distance
every year (3000 miles, maybe?)

Anyway, there should be companies that would ship you the car, and I can't imagine it would
cost more than $600 or so to put it on a ship from Europe to a major US port.

The tricky thing again will be getting the car titled. Some states make it easier, that's for sure
(New Hamphire maybe?). Anyhow, it can be done.. its just you have to no that special route. :}

We're so free in the US aren't we? arrgggggggggggg We need a Revolution II :}
