Aurelia queries

Unread post by Florent »

Dear all,

I'm restoring a 5th serie B20 and I'm now rebuilding the engine wich was painted in aluminium grey. I first thought that it was one more modification done on my car but, as I've seen an other car with a painted engine I wonder if all the Aurelia blocks were originaly coated that way and if I have to do so.

An other request, about the lights : where are the front position lights situated ? Are they in the side indicator or in the main Carello lights ; there is a place for a 5W lamp in the Carello, but was it used on the Aurelia as it is also possible to fit a 2 filaments lamp in the side indicators ? (As only a very few parts were original on my car, the side indicators may also have been changed !)

Many thanks in advance to all Aurelia fans.

Regarding the engine paint, my B12 engine block which is original was painted in a light green. The other Aurelia engines I know are unpainted, but this could be a result of a rebuilt, after a thorough cleaning of the block.
In my opinion position lights for B12 as well as late series B20 are in the turn indicators. The Carello headlights only carry twin filament bulbs for dipped and full beam. Possibly some specialist can give more details. If necessary I can supply you with an electrical schema for your B20.

Sebastien,

I'm restoring a B 20 GT S (bodyshell 1411) too as Florent.

In the maentime, the body is completely rebuilded and I' m now reassembling the car.

The wiring is still in good shape and a specialist adviced me to re-use it for the future.

Nevertheless, I' m interested in that electrical scheme that you mentioned.

Can you send me the scheme please ?

Kind regards, Erik
