fuel filter exchange

Unread post by bob »

Can anyone tell me if the fuel filter can be changed on a 3.0V6 (K coupe).
The display reads "fuel filter change at ....km" but my garage says it is built in the fuel tank and can't be exchanged.

Hi Bob,

They are only partly correct, Yes, there is a filter in the tank fixed to the bottom of the immersed fuel pump, Looking at eper parts list, there is an in line canister fuel filter fitted forward of the fuel tank on the right hand side as far as I can tell, & if it is in a similar place to my Dedra, it's positioned near the front of the rear wheelarch, it has a banjo fitting at either end, and as it's under high pressure the washers probably require replacement as well.
Latest filter part number is 71736107.

Hope this helps, if you want a copy of the parts list to show them, please let me have your email address & I send you a copy.

Best Regards
Brian

Thanks Brian,

please send info to bobsolbrig@hotmail.com.
Could it be that the mentioned fuelfilter has been removed on later versions of the Kappa.
In my case it concerns a Coupe 3.0V6 from 2000 (registered in 2001).
On the german forum someone has told me this was the case.

Best regards,
Bob

Hi Bob,
my apologies,
after your last post I went back into eper to pull off the information for you, only to find that I couldn't find it! Seems that I must have been looking at the 3.0.V6 24v for the models, LESS Coupe.

As far as I can see, Coupe never did have the in line filter, although I can't imagine why not!

So your garages information was correct, & I hang my head in shame. I got it wrong.
