Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
Guys, I've seen a couple of pictures of the Coupe Fiat badged as a Lancia here and there on the web. I'm lead to believe this actually happened but I can't find anything at all about it.
Does anyone know anything about this? Model name, countries it was sold in etc??
Thanks
Gareth

Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
to the best of my knowledge the Coupe Fiat was never ever marketed as anything but a Fiat.

Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
this isn't the answer to the question; but I've been told that a # of standard Lancia Delta were marketed in Scandanavia as Saab many years ago. I wonder how long it took them to rust ?
I know that most of the hot-rotted / belowered & bespoilered Fiat Coupes I've seen ( and cursed) have a multitude of Ferrari badges stuck all over the body, wheels, glass & whatever else badges could fit.
Sorry, but its true !

Hi
The only connection I know of, is the use of the 5 cylinder Fiat Coupe engine in the some Lancia Kappa eg. 20V turbo.
I had one of these, but sadly no more.
I don't know of any badging crossover, though.

Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
the Ferrari sticker-badges on the Fiats are put, by the dozens, on these Fiat Coupes by the owners; usually with lots of spoilers, lowerer suspension, wider wheels (to each his own taste). Although those I've seen look (usually) "properly-wild" (why not?) I wouldn't want to be seen (by anyone) while driving one.
Too much is too much !
& stickering such a "wild-ride" with Ferrari stickers is "definately too much".
A Ferrari badge or2 (or 10) on an old Fiat 500, that is funny & I like that sort-of-humor....but on a Fiat Coupe it "reflects on the taste of the owner"; while "detracting from the lovely Pininfarina Design".

Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
The original Lancia Delta was partly co-developed with Saab, specially the heating/ventilation system (which worked great because I have first hand knowledge) and were marketed in Scandinavia as the Saab 600; this had nothing to do with the Coupe Fiat; as for them rusting fast, I don't think that they were any more prone to rust than many other cars of the period, again judging from my own personal experience. (Fiats and Lancias have had a very high standard of rust protection for at least two decades now). The 5 cylinder engines came much much later and first appeared in the Lancia Kappa, trickling into several Fiat and Lancia models over the years.
Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
do you comprehend English by the way? what do stupid stickers and hotted up old Coupes have to do with the original question? but since you rasied the subject, at least Fiat owns Ferrari and its Italian..its really pathetic seeing Ferrari badges on Mazdas or Toyotas...
Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
yes; I've even been speaking, writing (professionally) & teaching English for many many years.
However I adhere to the "American-English-Language" vs "Queen's School English"; so English speaking Europeans don't ask "say, old chap, can you tell me where the dust bin is located" or "can you stop the car ? I've got to pitch a penny ?"
I quote myself in my reply of 19.08: "this isn't the answer to the question".

Finally, I don't mind a Ferrari badge on almost anything....in my company they have been pasted all over out warehouse doors, walls, windows & even on out (red) forklift. However, taking a sleek Fiat Coupe (even with low-tone "add-on-pieces") & smothering it with Ferrari stickers is, in most humble opionion, the epitimy of stupidity....on the other hand, if it makes the owner happy, what harrm is done.
Which, by the way, reminds me of my favorite joke...but I'll save that for another day.

Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
you're now trying to be funny at least...and still, in my opinion missing the point...
Re: Lancia (Fiat) Coupe
thanks Phillip,
but may I ask your understanding ? Finally, via his Forum we are both enjoying ourselves; much the same as Geoff, Eric, Ruud, Jure & others & I trade barbs in lanciagammaforum.com
I try not to "be fúnny," I am only being "me"..
Although given the restrictions we face by political forces beyond our level of comprension (they are of a lower degree thereof) that isn't aöways easy. Thanks for your wit. I apprecate it.
I've just returned from a day of toil beyond human-comprehension. I've been out with my (international-Euro) mates discusssing "how to save the world and more" & will admit that I have done my best to miss the point & enjoyed doing so. Which is the point !
Looking forward to your reply, YFS, Johnny48
