Air Sensor

Hi guys,
I own a Thema 94’ 16V VIS. Does anyone know for what responsible the sensor that connected to the induction manifold between the mass airflow meter and the throttle. (A small pipeline that connect the sensor to the air pip, and return to the VIS head)?
