Re: thema must go
hi ian,
having a back yard full of lancias in a variety of guises i can sympathise with your need to create space but i still can't resist the temptation to respond to your ad on the viva lancia site.
having already been through that particular excercise (rescuing a good 16v thema and swapping a goosed 16v engine for a good 8v) and having since enjoyed a nice, comfortable, quick and reliable car in which i've travelled the length and breadth of the country without missing a beat, i would just like to ask you a couple of things.
how soon do you need to part with the car and bits and bobs in your ad?
let me guess, asap right?
what colour is the car offered?
(hopefully black)
mine is that blue/green which is also nice.
finally, where are you?
i'm in scotland, close to edinburgh.
look forward to hearing from you.
peter.

Re: thema must go
Hi peter thanks for the email .Sorry its not black it is crystal green metalic with biege alcantara leather.There is no urgent rush to remove the car as it is in my garage.I bought it 5 years ago with engine in boot and rebuilt it. the car ran really well for 3 years and like yours never even had a cough,until the wife decided she wanted something newer. We sold it to someone and don,t ask me how but he blew it up within half an hour.He rang me up and we brought the car back,i stripped it down to find he had run it that hot he,d warped the crank carriers. He signed the car back to me as he said he wasn,t capable of repairing it and so it has been garaged for 2 years except for when i have had time to work on it.The reason i,ve decided to let it go is have have recently bought a ssangyong musso and was always intending having thema as a toy for summer,but enjoy driving slow musso so much cannot see me wanting to drive anything else.This also means i have had to give up my beloved dedra which we have had for 9 years.We only live in mid terraced house with a garage up the road so cars are now becoming a problem as we have thema/dedra/works van/wifes laguna &musso. I am in huddersfield west yorkshire and realise it would be along trek down to pick it up,but if you wanted to do the trip over 2 days would gladley beable to put you up for night with some beers food & lancia talk. If you are interested or want to know what bits i have for it do not hesitate to email me again.
