Thema sunroof sticky operation

Would appreciate comments on how to clean out and lubricate the sunroof mechanism. The switch cetainly needs cleaning (thanks for your advice from a fellow cantabrian, David) . The roof panel often comes to a stop and needs to be pushed through a sticky patch. Do you think a flush with CRC and a relube with thin oil would help or does it need a "dry" type lube?
