Fulvia head gasket - water passages not corresponding

Unread post by Jean de Barsy »

I'm rebuilding my Fulvia 1300 s1 engine and when I put the new head gasket on the engine block I notice that the coolant passages are not corresponding. The old gasket had the same issues and some say to install the gasket as it is...

Has anyone an address where I can buy a gasket that has the correct pattern for a 1300 818.302 engine? I marked in white the problematic areas.

Install the gasket as it is, Jean. The holes in block and head are probably as they are for ease of manufacturing. The holes in the gasket balance the flow through the engine. Just make sure you have reinforced holes for the oil channels. Some gaskets don't have these reinforcements. They might be ok but I wouldn't take any chances.
