Stiff gearlever

The gearlever on my Dedra Turbo is stiff to move across the 'gate' making gear selection difficult. Would this be down to the selector mechanism needing greased? Seems similar to a problem I had on a Prisma (same gearbox? ) a couple of years back which was down to the selector pivot bolt needing cleaned and greased.

maybe selector mechanism is used
