Stoßdämpfer

Hallo,
gibt es eine Möglichkeit zu prüfen, inwieweit möglicherweise Stoßdämpfer des Skyhook Systems verschlissen sind. Kann man dazu Parameter via Examiner auslesen. Habe das Gefühl und dies wurd emir auch durch einen anderen Thesis Fahrer bestätigt, dass mein Fahrzeug etwas härter "hölzerner" reagiert auf Fahrbahnunebenheiten. Es ist nicht wirklich hart und unkomfortabel doch halt auch nicht mehr so besonders komfortabel wie es noch vor 2 oder 3 jahren war. Der Wagen hat jetzt knapp 100.000 km gefahren.

Sind eventuell Kondensatoren defekt die man selber auslöten muß

Hi Bob,
wenn das Steuergerät für die Stossdämpfer spinnt, bleiben die Skyhooks in der härtesten Stellung. Es gab von mir mal einen Beitrag dazu, ist ne Weile her, bei mir war ein Elko kaputt und liess sich einfach ersetzen. Hier der Link: Skyhook hart

Hallo Ralf,
Kann mich an diesen Beitrag erinnern, bei mir ist es aber so, dass das System weit entfernt ist, in der härtesten Stufe zu arbeiten, es ist eben nur gefühlt so, dass Bodenunebenheiteb etwas weniger gut absorbiert werden.

Hallo, Bob.

Ja es ist möglich über den CAN-BUS das Skyhook auszulesen und einen Stossdämpferdefekt damit zu sehen.

Leider ist dies nur Lancia vorbehalten.
Da der Thesis aber nicht mehr im BAU ist hat Lancia/Fiat die Werks Config für das Skyhook freigeben.

Ich warte immer noch auf die Vollständigen Daten, bis jetzt haben wir nur die Decoder Codes bekommen für unser
Projekt.
So das wir überhaupt das Skyhook außlesen können.

Aber bis jetzt ist es wie ich sehe mit anderer Software nicht möglich dies zutun.
Man benötigt dafür die Codec´s und die von Lancia Norm-daten.
Da die aber jetzt schon seid einem Jahr frei zu bekommen sind, ist es eine Frage der Zeit denke ich bis
man es mit anderer Software außlesen kann.

The capacitors are not a miracle. They are there just to filter the input amplitude for four high power circuits. Also after the 15.1.2005 there was a replacement fot the control units and it contains SMD capacitors instead of those classic electrolitic ones. Also the software versions seems to be different (I have both those units for testing). But of course when they (the old one) are dried out, the replacement has to be done, but it usually doesn't change the behaviour as a new car, so do not expect it.
You can't connect to the skyhook unit via CANbus, it communicates dirrectly to one OBD pin for the rear control units (like parking brake etc.) I have also the software I use to read the live data and compare them with my old one from year ago when the suspension was perfect.

I have changed both capacitors and it was fine for a few miles. What is interesting that when i disconect any portion that is bound to the Skyhook (sensors, skyhookunit ..), the effect is the same. A few km's fine, but then the car becomes hard again. Nobody has a solution. Its nervebraking.

Yes we have made a few tests with my friend (a thesis owner too) and can agree with you, after any disconnecting and than connecting back, the car is more softer for a few kms. It seems that after disconnecting, it's in some calibration mode and than it starts working as before. Now he has bought new front shockabsorbers, so maybe we would see if it could make any difference. I'm not sure if mentioned before, but we also tried changing the new control unit with the old one and car seemed to be more softer.

Could it be that a sensor is not working properly? Wrong input --> wrong output = stiff ride.

Of course, I had one thesis for repairment (more stuff) and on the skyhook there was a broken sensor and it caused very stiff suspension. After glueing it, the car has started hooking . And there wasn't any error on the dashboard.
