Smoking engine...

I Have Dedra 2.0ie -91.
-Car is smoking a lot when I start the engine.
-It only smokes when car is not used a long time(at least 24 hours).
-It also eats oil.
This started after we replaced cover gasket(I dont know the correct word..) and engine was opened.. Oil rings and piston rings are in good shape. Valves was repaired in the same operation. Engine is in good shape, but smokes? What I should check?

Why don't you try to put Slick 50 in the engine and change the oil + filter, try it it might work. Slick 50 saved my Thema's engine as I have been too busy to check the oil - it had none but still drove ok.

No problem anymore. I don´t know what was wrong but the problem seems disappeared. Car eats oil now 0.5l/1000km with normal oil and its normal.
