S1 pressure plate adjustment

Unread post by lancia7550 »

Hi,

Follow on question on the clutch. I have replaced the pressure plate springs on my S1 Rallye 1.3S with the correct violet/ gold springs as the ones installed were terribly stiff (white, much shorter and thicker) and resulted in a very tired leg in traffic...

I have the workshop manual, but obviously not the tools described. I assume my adjustment should follow the specs for 818.330-1727263 although I do not know if the original pressure plate is present (based on the wrong springs I found).

The pressure plate is branded F&S (painted blue) with markings "Typ KS200" and "H72J220".

If the pressure plate is correct, do I just adjust the levers to a distance of 43.5mm from the cover?

Many thanks,
Albert

Hi guys,

Any pointers on this would be hugely appreciated. I am planning an re-uniting the engine and gearbox next weekend and do not want to risk getting this wrong.

Thanks,
Albert
