S1 1300 rallye S spare engine

I'm looking for a spare 1300 engine for my S1 (1300 rallye s) but S1 engines are apparently hard to find!

Very often it's a late series engine that's for sale but can I do something with an S2-S3 engine for a S1 (gearbox, alternator etc)?

I plan to rebuild a spare engine for the ease of mind but mostly to learn how it's put together

(and to enjoy the view of such a beautiful little engine in the corner of my garage ::o)

As I understand it should be possible to mount a S2 engine on a S1 gearbox:
Either you use the S2 bell housing on the gearbox with a S2 flywheel/clutch or you use a S1 crank/flywheel casing with the original S1 clutch / bell housing.
