Just bought a Delta 1300LX in great condition. Anyone ever had experience with electrics? Speedo playing up, the parking brake warning is always flashing and right hand back beam goes on and off a will :p
Also, has anyone any experiencing of making any modifications to get these little ones to do a bit more!
Delta LX Mods?
Re: Delta LX Mods?
Hi,
The speedo problem will be the sensor in the transmission - driver's side of the differential casing, difficult to get a spanner onto.
The handbrake lamp may be due to the front pads being worn down, brake fluid low, or the switch under the lever has rotated and is not being pushed by the lever when down. The pad sensor wires may have shorted to earth somewhere though, they can be traced from the caliper area.
The only sensible way to make it go quicker is to fit a twin cam engine from a Delta GTie, GT, HFie, HF or Prisma. However that is a fairly major move, involving replacment of the front suspension wishbones, struts and springs and fitting the ecu and harness.
Keep it standard unless the engine is clapped out.
Not sure what you mean by "right hand back beam" but probably a dodgy earth connection if its not the bulb.
Good luck, Leo
