Boost Pressure

Unread post by Scotty C »

Could somebody tell me what the correct boost pressure (and related BHP figure) should be on a boggo 1992 EVO1 as mine seems to fluctuate a bit.

I have seen 1.2 bar, but it seems to be consistently producing 0.75.

Cheers,

It is taken from the dashboard. It reads more when it is cold in the morning ?????
I am getting readings of 1.2, but never less than 0.75.

Dear Scotty

It is normal that you have more pressure when the waste gate(pressure regulator turbo compressor) is cold!!!, because inside this actuator there is a spring and so as you now there wil be a difference between a cold and a hot spring!!!. That is also the reason that there is a boost valve on the car!,
The best thing too start with is disconnect the electrical connector from the boost valve, and than look how high the turbo pressure is and maximal speed this means full trotle with low rpm in the 3e gear thil 4000 rpm??????, it must be
+/-0.8 bar.
When this is okay !!than look what the difference is when the system is working normaly, because there must be a difference from nearly 0.2 bar???

Till next time Giovanni
