;) ignoring Barts insults & knowing that hes jes' a jealous guy like John Lennon & Brian Ferry (since Bart doesn't call an Ami8 his own) , I will come to my own best-*defense*: (*translation; the fence)

I did a careful scientific study yesterday to prepare for the" worst case scenario that will arrive someday:" !

worst case: an Ami with no bright. shiny. chromy headlight surrounds !
solution: cut, crimp, bend, fold, shave, pound, stomp (etc) Fulvia surrounds until they fit Ami8 fenders, R & L

an even worse worst case case: a Fluvy Z with no headlight surrounds !
solution: go to your friendly bank manager & borrow... against your retirement fund, house, children (grandchildren?) in order to come up with enough "hard-cash"... to have small pieces of sheet steel for a skilled craftsman to cut, crimp, bend, fold, shave, pound, stomp, stamp, chrome (etc) these small pieces until they fit Fulvy Z fenders R & L.

final possible maybe solution - to either worst case; check around for years to determine which & whatever Ren-O &/or Pu-Go models use the same headlamps as the above 2 cars, 2C if their headlamp surrounds fit... without having to cut, crimp, bend, fold, shave, pound, stomp, stamp, chrome (etc) until the surrounds fit Fulvy Z &/or Ami8 fenders.

Or, just wait until another Fulvy Z &/or Ami8 owner is on foriegn holiday & have Luigi Lightfingers...........

Of course, I know, beyond the shadow offa doubt, that you wouldn't do that (or?) :)

I think the specific Zagparts aren't that expensive. It'll take you some time to source them, but prices aren't that extravaganza.
The surrounds pop up once and a while on Ebeej, lanciaflavia.it/annunci or spitline.com but hey, if you don't need them tomorow, you can shop around. Sometimes you'll even find a complete rotten Z-car for poco dineros. Cut it up, box it & shelf it.

Sorry John, normally seen, I'm the guy who's laughed at because he has bought another ugly car. A litlle history:
Beetle 1303 (the ugly one in 'Jeagergrun')
Volvo Amazon (painted with a brush ' again green)
Fiat 127 in beige (with abarth engine - granny's car on steroids)
Alfa 75 in white and another in Carabinieri blue
Alfa 33 in pink (used to be red -thank you Mr Sun)
RenO 11 (was cheap)
Trabant 601 painted with brush by artist into something psychotic
Lancia Beta Coupé in SeaGreen-AppleBlue color looked like blueCuracao on wheels - repainted it in orange (I ought to be red)
Fiat Ritmo(Strada) Cabrio (bright Yellow)
And now: the dark red S2 Fulvia Berlina (the "Polski Fiat" for my collegues) B)

Soo, I'm soo happy I'm of the hook: you found a more ugly car I ever had. X(

Are it the American roots or the German ones that did the trick? ;)

BTW: I think we have to move over this topic to the "funnyForum". :D

I remembered reading this message...concerning plugs, 3 days ago, when I was preparing re my Lancia (which 1 is a secret) for its bi-annual-pollution control. It had been running like my neighbors tractor; that is to say...real ruff !!. I had not had the opportunity to drive it on the road this year; only on spins around the parking lot.
It never reached any "temperature" on those spins.
I decided to swapped plugs & it remained as rough. The old plugs (500km in 2 yrs) plugs were blacksooty no-good. I friend checked the lead wires & replaced 2. It now runs like greased-lightning & I can have the test done with no fear.
That is the last hurdle, after a 2.5 year "re-do project", to getting a Historical-Registration...so I don't have to take Number-Plates of a different (similar) Lancia to sneak-drive around the neighborhood at night.

Bart told me a similar story last year...stating "well, a Fulvia is a Fulvia & the registration documents said Fulvia, so I risked it".. What is that old saying ? "Comfort among Theives"? or something like that.

In 2009 I've not done that; but 'ave ...step by step...replaced everything that wasn't right...so that soon I will ...for me a novel experience...drive an 'older Lancia' legally, anytime / anywhere I want. :)
