Driveshaft Center Section

Unread post by Dan Loomis »

I have a 1979 Beta Coupe 2000. I am switching it over from auto tranny to 5-speed. The drifeshaft center section is too long when attaching the 5-speed transaxle (by about 1/4 inch).

1. Is there a different length driveshaft center section for a 5-speed?
2. Does anyone have one?

Thanks,
Dan

This may or may not be useful (particularly since this is now several months old and I am in the UK) - I seem to remember there is some difference between early and late series centre driveshafts, and may or may not be the case with auto transmissions. I have a '79 coupe donor HPE which I have just disposed of but have kept the engine including the centre driveshaft section. You are welcome to it, except:

1) the car is RH drive
2) can you send me the measurement that you think you need and I can double check?
3) If you are not in the UK, postage may be prohibitive.
