Beta Flasher unit
Beta Flasher unit
The 6 pin flasher unit on my 1981 Beta sedan needs to be replaced, Does anyone know if there is a currently availabe unit from Hella etc that will fit as the Isola ones are proving very ahrd to come by.
Re: Beta Flasher unit
Hello John,
I can't offer much but... First of all try Chad at the Monte Hospital, he has a lot of good contacts. The Montecarlo flasher unit is only a 3 pin thing though.
I cannot find a six pin flasher on the diagrams for the Beta sedan in the Haynes manual. Is it the 5 pin (connector looks like 6 ) one for the hazard flashers? As far as I can see there is also a 3 pin unit for the "turn" signals. I have to confess that I do not know what my S3 HPE has!
If you can tell me the pin connections I will work out what you can do in the way of alternatives.

Re: Beta Flasher unit
Thanks for your offer to trace the wiring - but I've found the solution. Beta Cars was able to source a fix it kit made by Lancia. This plugs into the socket where the flasher wouod normallly go. It is a bit of wiring loom and an electrical box about the size of the old flasher into which plugs a normal 3 pin flasher can. It all worked perfectly first time. Much easier than trying to redo the wiring.

Wow!
Good old Betacar. I looked more closely at the diagram and the hazard switch is quite different from "traditional" ones - fewer contacts so the electronics box must compensate by having diodes in it. Would be interesting to know what is in there!
