Re: trevi power steering
Hi Fintan
It is easy to remove well as easy as anything is on a Trevi.Jack up front & put on axle stands Remove front wheels & the rubber gaiters that the track rods pass through under the wings. Drain the system either loosen one of the banjo connectors on the power steering pump or on the rack catch what fluid you can! messy & red! Remove the banjo connectors from the rack tie the flexi hoses out of the way. inside the car remove the lower clamp bolt at the column to rack connection. it may also be a good idea to loosen the 4 M10 bolts holding the steering column under the dash (remove shroud around col switches to access) you should be able to pull column off the spline on the rack. you may have to remove the nuts completely & drop the column to do this.Remove the two large bolts that fix the track rods to the rack centre, undo the two clamps that fix the rack to the bulkhead. You should be able to wriggle the rack out from the right hand side under the wing. It is all very cramped & awkward But by access from under the wings & from above behind the engine you can get to all the fixings & fittings, I've probably forgotten the odd pipe clamp or two but that is basically it.
when you refit the rack make sure it is at mid travel & set the steering wheel horizontal when you reconnect the spline check lock to lock movement before fixing (count the number of turns reach side of centre)
Refit the pipes not that the fittings are shaped to the curvature of the rack the sealing washers are also shaped,(soft alumunium the will bend) fill the reservoir & bleed the system by turning the steering from lock to lock a few times with the engine running top up as required. get the tracking checked you may have to reposition the column on the rack spline as the steering wheel spline position is fixed.
I hope I remembered it all!

Re: trevi power steering
I think you can alternatively disconnect the track rods from the steering arms & leave them fixed to the rack centre
