Spark plugs
Spark plugs
Hi all. Looking for recommendations for modern performance spark plugs to fit my VX coupe, have mixed set at the moment and unsure what the best option is... stick with original fitment or something a little more 'interesting'?
Re: Spark plugs
I use multi-electrode plugs and also did so when I had my beta sedan 1600 a couple of years ago; running from cold was much better on the 1600 with these, the vx is less improved because, as you will be aware, it runs pretty well anyway even when cold. Champion and Bosch make suitable ones which are expensive-ish but not ridiculous I don't think I would shell out for some of the plugs you can buy from performance parts shops they seem very expensive to me.
Re: Spark plugs
Alan,
Thanks, specifically I am looking for a plug number (eg make/code: BPR6ES etc etc) - good plugs are what I'm looking for. I agree though, the VX does indeed run better when cold than previous 2 litre carb models I've run, but I think the mixed batch I have on my VX have been in the car for sometime! As I use it as a daily commuter (!), the better it runs the happier I am!
