Hallo
I`m Jens from Hamburg and I own a Fulvia Coupe 1966.
I changed the wheel bearing in the front left side and everything is ok.
Now I changed the right one on the front and after work the brake disc grinds on the axle-pivot.
Also the brake caliper is not centrical. The brake disc is 2 mm out of the center.
I do all the work by myself. Only the press in of the bearing was made in a shop.
Is it possible to make it in a wrong way?
Befor changing the bearing everything was in the right position.
I need help, because I drive a lot with this car.
Thank you: Jens
Problems with the brake-disk after changing the wheel bearing.
Re: Problems with the brake-disk after changing the wheel bearing.
There is a shaped ring around the part of the hub that goes into the bearing. Are you sure that ring went back onto the hub?
Can you post a picture? Or mail me the picture if you cannot post it.

Re: Problems with the brake-disk after changing the wheel bearing.
But this ring is bigger than 2 mm. If i remember well much more than 2 mm ( ~ 8-10 mm )
Re: Problems with the brake-disk after changing the wheel bearing.
The ring is thicker than 2 mm. You are correct. However the shaft on the hub hits the CVJ (Constant Velocity Joint) if the ring is omitted. The play between the CVJ en the end of the shaft is about 2 mm.

Hallo
I fixed it yesterday. Huib, you are right. The man in the shop forget the shaped ring. Now I did it by myself and it was not so cimplicated as I thaught.
I`m happy now. Thank you Huib and Andreas.

Well done, Jens. You noticed the problem. You went to this forum for help. The world helped you. You took action. The problem was solved. Again, well done.
Did you by the way torque both the ring containing the bearing and the axle nut to 30 kg /m? I torque it to a bit more but don't tell anyone. If you don't do that the new bearings will fail soon.
