this isn't actually a Fulvia Posting...

Oh well !
I planned to leave Heidelberg on thursday for the annual Lancia Gamma NL Meeting - this year loacted near The Hauge on Saturday, with a Friday visit enroute to Breda..to see Huib & Team....
alas,...sigh & curses...this was to not be or not to be !
I planned driving my Fulvia. Alas this also was not to be.

I was forced by my boss (me) to work until late Friday eve. Itraveled in a (faster, bigger) Lancia .. with the trunk (boot) & back seat filled to the roof with much-needed resupplies for my NL partner.

I couldn't have gotten 1/10 as much in a Zagato. The loss (no visit to Breda) was compensated by the Gamma knowledgable Gamma-Boys playing (serious tasks) with various & sundry Gammas in the Hotel parking lot, on the Beach, in a wild (natural wildness) Royal Park (near The Haugewhere the Lancia Club Holland was holding a informal-sorta-meeting.

My Gamma was given the royal treatment by Eric & his Dad; it now runs like a dream, is much quieter & gets 2x gas-mileage !!! This week, the right spark-plugs !!!

Lots of interesing & aha aaahhhaaa wowww Lancia; including a # of shiny Fulvia; with a fine white 1600 Zagato parked in the shade & lotsa interesting Lancisiti. My "Peoples-Choice" was a Appia Zagato that must have just left the Z factory.

Very relaxing.

No visit to Breda, no long drive (ca 600km) in a Fulvia...but a great weekend anyway.

HiLow Lucas

do U remember 2007; when I could be sure I could dish a pear for 2 hole daze until 2 days (or 1) before I actually departed ? I was concerned that my phone would ring 25x with irate clients needing my immediate presence somewhere where I was not close to.
The phone didn't ring 1x !
Imma fraid again that dish year I may be so much "in popular-demand" that I'll be forced to remain here printing money, while I still can ! What this means is that: if the "weather is great" we will be in full-production (which we are now) of fruit-concentrate-for-frozen-drinks & delivering the concentrates to those who give us (we hope) money.

Normally (what is normal) this business should boom between 1 May & 31 Aug...but this year (as in the previous 2) the weather has been so herky-jerky that we somethimes determine that we have:

produced enough tonnage of a particular flavor for the next 8 months; only to sell out 5 days later
or
produce like crazy for 2 weeks, getting ready for the "real-Summer", only for it to rain for 3 weeks & the warehouse is exploding.

We then pray a lot that the "real-summer" wasn't only those 10 days in May when it was hot !
If the summer runs thru mid Oct (as we have sometimes experianced) we have no time for nothing except workworkwork....

So, if I join my friends in Sep...thinks are not so good and
if I join my friends in Sept, I will turn off the phone & not worry about it,,,regardless of weather.

PS: I am the only 1 here dumb enuf to be on-call from 1 May until 31 Oct - to do anything for anyone anytime. You know how finniky clients are !

"John, I (we) need you now...or I will switch from Marlboro horses to Winston horses & you'll never win my
(our) business... so you can't mugger-off to have a real-life."

Honestly, I know four sure:
a) I wanna go b) its too early to even begin to think about it c) I'll do all in my power to make it work
d) a lot could happen between now & then that could have an effect on my trying to acheive c) above.

Well,

I hope to see you at the Fulvia tour with your beautiful Zagato.
Zagato's and Berlina's(berlinetta's) are much more rare than the some what ordinary coupe's.
It only take's a while before it is common knowledge.
Until now we have one zagato, two berlina's(including Bart's Berlinetta open air) and a bunch of (beautiful)coupe's.(and last but not least one Flavia S1 berlinetta.)
Besides that, the grappa stock must be renewed. ;-)

a Fulvia posting...

I was delighted last year to see a lovely older (than mine) S1 Zagato in France:
Huib wrote that it is undergoing some major operations !
I hope it finished & that is the Z you are referring to that will be on this years adventure ???.

The BEST FULVIA is the Fulvia (s) that we each own & drive (might I say "love" ?); regardless of color or model; religion or degree of perfect perfection !

Having said that, there are a lot of nicey Fulvia that I have seen in the last years "that I wooden break into someones garage for a joy-drive" ; however.... there are some Fulvia (that I've seen) that are just so......... so................so............ that I just may have to become a gangster/thief/break-in specialisti - at my ageso I can own them all !!!
Or win a Lotto Gran-Prix & buy them all !!!

NEW TOPIC
Not that the real "Claire's Fulvia" nor the real Claire has anything to do with this thread.......BUT CLAIRE !!! ITZ BENA AWFUL LONG TIME SINCE U UPDATED US ON YOUR BABY (was it Fulvia azin Rosa?) .

My dear Claire, an update pleez ! Will Rosa be in France this year ? U said it wood ! I remember (smile)lucas wrote:

John,

Claire is still assembling her magnificent rosso Fulvia! BUT but but, she will come with her nicely (self!!!)-restored Fulvia to the meeting!

So, yes, you need to search another copilot(e), perhaps your son can enter with the precious Z-lady? :D

greetings!!!!
