"flat towing" a 2nd series Fulvia

I'm planning to "flat tow" (pulling my Fulvia behind my truck not on trailer) about 150 miles (275 K's). Could there be any problems pulling my car in neutral that far?

Good question. never thought about it. I am trying to visualize the working of the oil pump in the gearbox which is on the secondary shaft. I don't think it works if the car is towed in neutral. Next question is then is it necessary that it works?

don't do it !!!!!!! under any circumstances !!! guaranteed disaster !!! to many reason to begin a list,
Trailer it, or go back to get it drive it to its new home, or pay a friend, pay a professíonal....anything but towing it.. Last-Prayer-Question "unless it is a hunk-of-junk" why risk damaging it ?"

I don't think it's a problem for a manual gearbox.
I can remember Mercedes' automatic gearboxes died during long tow-affaires. (Lubrication problems).

But like John said: do you really want to tow it for such a long way? I once parked a customers Alfa into the company Alfa when a mommy with baby-carriage jumped fearless (and brainless) on the road in front of the towcar. No power brakes and just 2metres of rope gave me no options (and a customer with tears in his eyes).

think twice.
Before you start towing: search for the price for a rental trailer.

I once towed a fully loaded renault 5 (loaded with a giant cast iron delahaye engine, rear axle, gearbox and some other stuff) with a fully loaded fiat uno 1.1 (loaded with engine crane, toolbox, and many many other parts) for some 150km of French toll motorway before escaping from the system after dark via a very small exit, with the two cars through the gate at the same time, leaving the lady in a state of perplexity. As private towing is prohibited, and we only paid for one car, we drove off as fast as we possibly could. The uno survived, however needed a new head gasket soon after... A memorable weekend to France!
