come on lancia

Unread post by pocahonts »

beloved lancia,

it`s more than true: probably as soon as possible they need the new delta (less sporty more luxory) to upgrade from the Y or downsize from the lybra (times they are a changing). it should be! an 5 door-coupé based on the actual-stilo-platform (it is solid and ok) with an 1:1 option for a suv-variation (countryman love lancias!). not so much this new-american-neobaroque-chris-bangled style (please not bangle, please not... mercy) but with more future-memories (the thesis interior and some details outside). and it sholud be as solid as thinkable, no eletronic gimmicks at all, but super fine “handmade-tailorfashioned” and nothing but a car, simply a car, but the best you can get in the so called c-segment (compact class). come on lancia, this is the last chance...try it. wont wait until you finished the thesis in 2004 perhaps...

in hope we trust, pocahontas.nl

I'm not sure what you are saying here. Do you favor a Lancia SUV, or is that just facetious? I find the fact that Lancia are currently building a minivan totally offensive.

Wouldn't it be nice if Lancia (or anybody) would build an honest to God car as well as possible and without the rubbish. But it seems unlikely. Even Porsche forces buyers to accept unnecessary power steering. I have to laugh at all of the old comments about the Flaminia being too heavy because virtually nothing finding its way to the U.S. market weighs less than 3,000 pounds nowadays.

So we can indulge in fantasy: how about a nice four wheel drive two liter V4 engined car, with only TWO DOORS, as God meant cars to have. That would be a proper Lancia.

hi randy,

i just meant: a pure car, nothing else than a pure an simple car but ahead of all that rubbish mainstream. simply a luxory splendig coupè, and if you want, ok, with three doors. i wold prefer 5 (with 2 hidden ones as alfa did with the 156). and why not a suv (as a variation for the rest of the countryman-snobs...if they exist...)

nice day. pocahontas.

future Lancias

Unread post by Ryan »

what i've heard so far, is

2002:
Lancia Thesis
Lancia Phedra

2003:
Lancia Y replacement

2005:
Lancia Lybra replacement

There was talk of a C-segment MPV (based on the Stilo platform)
that was put on hold for now. There would (will) be a Fiat and
Lancia version.

There is supposed to be this Delta replacement coming also, which
was what the Nea was supposed to be getting us ready for. Also,
there is talk of a compact SUV that Fiat will produce. So maybe
Alfa and Lancia will have some SUVs along the line of the Land
Rover Freelander in mind.. who knows.

I'm assuming there is more being worked done with regard to Lancia,
but most stuff you hear about are the future Alfas though..

Ryan

ps. for Randy. Lancia has been making the Zeta for close to 10 years,
and the Phedra will be around until 2009, and then yet again redesigned.
There have been, and will be Lancia minivans/MPVs for a long time to
come (if the division isn't canned).
