Rather high prices...::o
Gamma replys
I invite anyone / someone / everyone to compare the real market prices of Lan Fulvia Berl / Cpe / Zag to Alf Gulia Berl / Cpe / Zag or Renny Alpine (never sold in USA, I wonder why ?) and then Xplain to us all why (non-competition) Fulvia prices are on the ground-floor. at least in Europa.

Gamma : about 11.000 € for the coupé and7.000 for the 4-doors. Is that enough / OK ?
Gamma replys:
nicey Gam seem to be vry-hi-priced in IT / CH & vry-zero-priced 'most everywhere else, with current low demand actually falling (:P) ..so I don't really have any idea what a good Gamma is worth; although I can say that there is an on-going "hot active crazy Gamma-Cpe Scene" in many Eur-Countries & that there are a # of semi - unexplainable restorations & various "other Gamma projects" going on, that I am aware of* ....
If we were talking almost any other 70's or 80's Euro Luxo-GT, the cost of this depth of "car-saving-measures" would be a lot a lot a lot higher ! Restore a 4 Door DeTomaso anyone ?
I would, in 2010, compare a Gam, Cpe or Berlin, to ... well... actually ... to...hmmm...to... "no other aging GT'ish interesting survivor" of 70/80's ... remembering that all Gam had 4cyl flat, noisy (until warm) tempermantal (ho ho)
low-go power-plants ... compared to 6cyl or 8cyl BMW, Jag, Benz etc; not forgetting USA V8 powered GT's or Ferrari / Lambo 12cyl)
much hi'er-go power-plants...at similar prices to a new Gamma... which may be 1 of the Gam's saving grace now... expensive for what you got, when new; cheap for what you get, now B)
They aren't expensive in motor-rebuild department, due to a good-reserve of donor-motors "known within the Euro-Gamma Scene". Sometimes with an entire Gamma included, along with the motor; a donor-Gamma with good doors, glass, interiors, tin-panels etc (I know) for very low $ !!! Can you imaging someone giving you/me a 6er BMW or SLC Benz for a few Euro, so you/I could use the motor & save all good components & / or other bits & pieces for that
rainy day ?
NOTE: Recently (within last 6 months) 2 Gam Cpe that I know of have traded-hands - 1 for-free (owner RIP); 1 for under € 100..... both drivable but not driven very far for some years; both from dry-storage; both started quite often during storage & driven a few miles every now & then.
The new owner of the free Cpe is currently investing small UK Pounds here & there, since this Cpe was mechanically sound, running & had recent MOT; requiring "very lttle investment" to keep it "quite-presentabe". Good for him & for his Cpe; it looks great in photos. The new owner is an experienced Gammisti & knew the recently deceased quite well (so I have been told) !! I get to see the car next month !
The € 100 Gamma's new owner ... in NL.. says he can get his "newest-Jewel nice-looking" with a few weekend's effort & a few parts from a donor Gam Cpe within his reach*. His new Gamma is also mechanically-sound !
A "easily-made-perfect" well-know to UK Gammisti S1 Berlna with leather was recently crushed in Normandy ... it was simply too far for anyone from the Gamma World to pick-up & it wasn't free (too bad!).
Its "value" as a trade-in"on a new Renò was higher than anyone in Gamma Circles would want to pay for it. Wadda Shame ! I think it could have been had for € 2000. A Gift !

the followin text is ritten ina almos loss dialek of tha deep-souf USA Delta-Region:
* an interestin
clusta a' projeks I done hoid 'bout a # a times ova da las 3 or 4 years is a sorta on goin escapade involvin........lotsa folks... en not a one of ems ina bitta of a rush !
a one-off dark-blu leatha-interia for a Gamma Cpe, produced by P. Frau Leatha Works (Torino?) in da early 80's for a 2.5 i.e. S2 Cpe, incl leatha-dash, door-panels, seats & more...costin bacjk den closta one luxurry early 80's small car. I've done seen da 'riginal Fattura includin VAT from P. Frau......Holy Toledo !!!
Da bisness-person who ordered dis blu-leatha
so I'va been tole considered it necessary ta have leatha ina fine Italo GT. At dat time leatha was'na Pininfarina made Gamma-Cpe option ! Hmmm !!
How strange dat was, since de Berlina could be ordered wif factory-leatha & many were.
De blu-leatha orda was made direct to Poltrona Frau....who "requested" that dis specific Gam be bought to Ital for final-fittins. Da patterns on dis han-sticht-nteria is truly a "one-off" & is lovely in all dem photos I been seein. Dis hare blu interia is ta be install inna superb late 70's Gam Cpe dat alreada sports a one-off red-leatha-seat intera produced by (who else) P. Frau Leatha Works
".
Dis here Cpe's red-leatha-order did'n include leatha door panels, dash etc. Da Dottore who special-order dese seats in da late 70's paid a price ofa somewhat smaller luuuxurry small-car of da late 70's dan dat Gent who order dat blu-full-leatha interia. My My My, wat sum folk won do ta keep aheada da Jonses !
Dr. Rosso-Leatha he done hata wait 6 month for his red-seats tabe delivered an installed, durin which time his Cpe sat in da dealer'showroom; paid but not registered.
Dr Rosso tole me dat he later ordered 2 more Gam Cpe, both S2 wiff A/C, both wiffout leahta, but dat he could'n remember why he did'n orda leatha on dem; understanable for a Man over 90 years o age
Den dis was no longa possible, so he switched to big Alfa's !
(John Writes) an obvious Gamma love affair & a generous expense-account. This he told me himself !!
I've yet to see his "large collection"; which includes every (nice) car he bought since the 60's, but not cars bought for his wife or his kids ...
He always bought himself luxury Italians...not always Lancia ! He told me "my son takes care of my nice cars for me; I only drive the newest one & not very far any more. My son actually runs a business taking care of my car & those of my friends ! Boy o Boy, is he expensive !
Now we will go a hoppin en a steppin back ta Lou'siana, so we can shuck en jive some mo'
Da S2 Gam that done loss is blu-leatha-interia returned to wearin its riginal new, unused, perfect blu-velour L-Pattern intera, wiffout its leatha dash & door panels. I 'sume dat da cloff intera was well-stored fo' bout 30 dern years !!
GAMMA NOTE:
L Blu almos black velour interia was a stan'rd choice in S2 Cpe; wiff red or silva L's; boff kinda 'tractive, I'd prefer red if I hada goan make me a choice !
De leatha- to-velour swap's been done fo' reasons known ta da new owna, who recent bought his S2 Cpe (a prfct Cpe so I'been tole) from its fuss-owna. I guess dat da new-owna din't particular like da blu-leatha
I'va somehow loss track of somefin somewheres here; but it hav somehow somefin ta do wif a Gam Cpe goin ta / 'haps already in Jay-Pan.
Nuff small-talk, Les jes be muffin rite 'long here; we ain got all nite:
tha red leatha seats are ta be install ina S1 Cpe's Jet-Plane Cockpit. Dis S1 Cpe currently sports perfect
S1 velour-seats (non L) dat'll probabe go in ta big boxes ta be fo'warded ta ... still ta be determine...ta spiff up one of dose Gam now ina 'reconstruction' stage !
PS: not countin workin ova a few weekens (I'ma sure) time dat'll be involved in carefully swappin evrythin & not countin da cost a shippin cross-border from A ta (far beyond) B, this 'ntire project is costin thems whose is involved...................only a few Rappen, Pennies & (maybe?)Eng Pds or Jap Yen !
Moral of dis Story:
probable none...
or....
maybe dat dem Gam mus be worse-a-lot to dems who drive em*; dem crazy #?&%§ fools
but probable not very much ta any othres !
iffin ya really wansta knows bouts dese things jes aks any a dem dose Gam'mens....
DFas rite, jes goin rite on ova to em an aks em
aks R, R, J, J, J, T, J, W, W, P, M, M, P, L, R, E, L,V &/or any of dozens of my otha friens in Europa (en Japan); aks dem mens whou'd proble rada walk* dan drive anythin else !
