Re: European Motor Show Brussels
Chrysler name is bad in the uk,its as bad as lada cars in the 80s and worse than lancia's ever was (even in the rust fiasco beta days people still loved the older lancias and remember the stratos with a smile)
but lets be honest its a bad climate for car makers and a small niche livig on past glory brand stands little chance of making money now, also what can lancia put out to compete with the fiat 500 for small car sales or the focus and c4 ext both have world wide support and a high profile in the wrc and then there's bmw vw merc subaru mitsubishi and a few others who all have great cars with quality build and investment in service support and customer care? so the new delta is nice but the uk market wont like it for all those reasons, its too expensive and no customer support (fiat/alfa trainee's learning on our pride and joys) most uk buyers are looking for a cheap safe well made car that any garage can service so a lancia with uk flaws (rhd models used to suffer due to lhd original layout, the gear linkage and throttle cable being twice as long and you always felt like you were in the passenger side as the footwell is different ext) uk buyers have been burned by lancia before and it would take a lot of wrc victorys and glowing test reports (top gear uk) to prove reliability and get our respect again.
so to anyone with a lancia thesis or older rejoice at the fact you have a LANCIA made by lancisti pure and simple....
