Inlet/Exhaust Tract lengths

Unread post by ekranoplan »

Anyone recall (or ideally can measure off a cylinder head) the distances for:

INLET: edge of ports to inlet valve centres
EXHAUST: Ex valve centres to exit ports

For Fulvia 1600, 1300 and 1200 cars?

Hello,

Yes, reports of my death are greatly exaggerated!

Still here in La France profonde and at the moment just starting work on the Fanalone on which I did so much back in 2001 at Barry Waterhouse Engineering. The car has done 26 rallies without an overhaul so the owner has decided that it's time for a look. I'll be running a few pieces on my blog with some snaps - the subframe is coming out as I much prefer to have access. For those who don't know my blog, just Google "Fulvias in France."

Now as for the tract lengths, from memory short ports are 2½" and the long ones, 6" - roughly that is. So the difference in length of your exhaust primaries should be about 3½"

A bientôt
Paul

Thanks Paul

Good to have you back on the forum!

Are the inlet ports the same length wise?

Cheers

Just ran down to the garage to grab a tape measure and a cilinderhead (1300) here are the results:
Short tracks (both in and ex) are 6cm and the long tracks measure 15cm. Measured from the manifold flange to the centre of the valve guide.
The tracks in the inlet manifold measure 6cm.
Hope to have helped.

Kind regards,
William
