No offense, but this forum needs a "John's Stream of Consciousness" thread, so that the rest of us won't waste our time thinking that there might be some useful Lancia discussion on the threads so labeled.

Ed...please, however, remember that the Ami8 lent it lights to the Fulvy Z, or visa versa...so there is a slight Lancia link here somehow/where

By the way, for those who (lucky U) don't personally know me / have never had the misfortune (ha ha; I bestow my grace on thee) to meet me & do not send me email or personal messages (to which I always) respond...we can only c'spond here in this forum. Or not, if U prefer.

I no longer write professionally; nor do I have Chris the proof-readers, Suzy the typist & Ken - to add some uuch-needed "flair, style & structure". Also, n editor to change/eliminate so much text (only so much space available in this months Mag, yo know ) that now-a-days I just stumble-on alone, at least when writing in English !

For those Fulvisti with whom I maintain another pattern of chatter; thank you all for sending me (all) your not 'st. of con'ess' messages; I feed off them. When I understand them !

Recently, at a non-Fulvy meeting I met many Gammisti that I'd corresponded with - on the Gamma Forum & off the Gamma Forum, for many years. Writing some Serious Stuff & some just plain ol' Funny Stuff.
We all agreed that we perhaps wouldn't have even attended this meeting had we not know that the 'others' would also be there & that we would finally get a chance to meet each other, for the 1st time....as old friends.

I thanked them for their uswually ludicrous / often-non-Lancia serious / usually totally wacko & non totally non-descipherable mails & posts & they did the same to/for me. We agreed to not cease !!

Yes, there were a # of Fulvisti attending as well; who know & read this Fulvy forum in English. They swear that they read it far more often than they would expect, because there is so much to be learned & laffed at ... not always concerning technical matters.

Many of the F'isti/G'isti post messages in theV.L. Italo sector; sometimes quite funny / ludicrous / often-serious / usually totally wacko & non totally non-descipherable

Tim;

I donno neither, at this point. Jure Slovenia, who is following this adventure said "buy a AX & save a lot of money" if you can't track that elusive Fulvia down". Cris from Greece (via Norway) said "if his school notes aren't up by yrs end, buy him a shovel; because he is digging his own grave". Cris has kids the same age as J Jr; so we (Chris, I & others) have a sub-level low-Lancia open commo-channel; open to anyone who wants to jump in... with both feet. John Jr read the Chris comment ! I hope he "takes note".

Lastly; the fulvy forum feedback & the private feedback I get (about many things) is quite valuable to me; as are the friends I have (actually) made via this forum !!

oops, the work day summons

I have 5 minutes between classes, so I wis to say thanks to Ralph, for posting the humorous LeCar message;

Ralph...I am now speaking in my best Brooklyn accent, which I can't do well...since I am an "original Queenser".
I have family living in Brooklyn (right by that famous bridge) that I hope to visit again sometime in the´next 5 years"
I'll let you know so you can leave town in advance:) John

Readers are probably saying, "his last post was only 60 odd words, let it go and he'll stop"

Oh what the hell.........

You probably mean the Brooklyn Bridge although the Verrazano is famous for having been the longest suspension and was one of the last large Robert Moses projects. That area, Brooklyn Heights and the surrounding neighborhoods, are today very expensive and nice, if you like brick, close neighbors and no parking.

Let me know if you do show up. Having lived in Naples for ten years and a father who worked locally for DoD we might have a few things in common worth a beer or two.

R. d. M....Si; I refer to BB. VNB: I remember going to look - a lot - at VNB when VNB was being built & finally riding across - very scared - Dad driving, shortly after it finally opened (very very late & very very over-budget).
Very impressive & very long. As is the GWB.

I like TBB too, almost as much as 59th Street / QBB (la la, la la feeling groovy); which is my favorite NYC Bridge.

Do I miss NYC ?? Does the sky have clouds ??

some text in (partial) German:
Ah yes: der gauntlet has fallen; die fisted-ham has meet das velvet-glove. We met-in-der-mitte preis-wise on the Ami8. In 10 days it will become our latest car-child. All involved is too busy to do it quiker.

Parents Pay Attention: If JJ's grades don't meet every1's expectations I'll buy the shovel recommended by Chris & drive the Ami (which is, by the way, german slang term, harmless, for "American") myself.

I pray that this will not occur !!

Echo: Should the minniest motor / 18HP Zitron 'D' actually be offered at the-price-after-repairs- that we envisioned...we will buy it too; don't ask me why ! Well...OK, I'll tell you. The price would be"the cost of any repairs required to make it safe" (safe for a D, that is)

Re: Not Drivin over NYC Bridges

ok ok ok, this has nit to do w/ any Lancia...but for what its worth...

I've driven over an incredible bridge across the Thames, S. of London several times; however I've forgotten the name. While going up up up or while going down down down it seems like the angle must be at least 60°.
It certainly is fun when it is windy !! I remember paying a steep (ha ha) toll, which I thought was rather cheap .. for the thrill involved in crossing

Crossing the GGB in SF was.. ..well, I was singing "to San Francisco with flowers in my hair" (yes, it was in the 'hippy days'; even though I had a military haircut at that time, I still sang)...(so did my companion) (she had long hair) That was quite an 'experience' too; but not too *hairyscary; but very exciting (just to do it) nonetheless.

Crossing a crumbly - hi o'er a valley - stone bridge, w/ only 1 lane 4 both directions, w/ no rails or curbs, very very slowly.. enroute to MZ from AL, in hills outside Tirrana, Albania....that was almost the 'end a me'
(& my 'local companion', who "knew the way, ha ha...perhaps 'the way' 20 years earlier). That was *hairyscary, even in a big safe Van that was far too wide for that bridge.

* Praise the Lord & pass the butter...we returned via a different "safer-route", a few km longer, but far less dangerous, upon returning.
Still, it was still almost the end ... of everyone & anyone who drives any sort of vehicle, anywhere, in AL or MZ.!

No one ever stops, for nothing, ever. But that story has already been posted in viva-lancia, some yrs back & I don't want to (panic, sweat, my heart) relive it :X
