1600 sport electric windows

Unread post by lancialulu »

Having spent the last three days trying to get my 1600 sport electric windows to work, I am throwing in the towel and ask does anyone have some tips, procedure, specification for motor etc. Alternativeley does anyone have a pair on Sport 1.3 manual winder mechanisms?(I think they may be different from the coupe from parts book)?

They work after a fashion ie go down! but returning is another matter. I have checked and rebuilt the little electric motor (seems to draw a miserly 2 amps when running - is this about right???), and have ensured all pullies are free and easy to rotate. Glass slides up and down by hand like a breeze so the guides are aligned, and there is new proper fit felt guides.

Maybe someone has a Lancia technical guide on setting up the electric window winding mechanism?

Hope to hear from you

This might have been what you checked first, but my experience with Fulvia's and electrics is always - "Check the earth" - or create a new one

Would be very interested to hear whether there is a manual on the electric windows. My Sport 1600 was converted to regular window winders but all original electrics etc were given to me and if possible would be interested to build it back in (although the last woner apparently tried to do this for some 6 years and then after no success decided to go for the handdriven ones) ...

No maunual but can share the routing of cable etc. It would not be easy to reinstall if all the pulleys are not in the door shell.

Hi Tim,

Sorry for the late reply. I would be most interested in the routing. All the inner works was taken out by the previous owner and he even had all the pulleys re-made with special low resistance bearings (as he thought the slow going up and down of the windows was due to the resistance of the original pulleys).

Best,
