what fulvia is this

Unread post by gamma a.i. »

preamble:
§1) to whit: I do have a Fulvia (Zagato 1972); at least I did last time I looked in the Garage (1 week ago).
§2: to whit: I do not have a Fulvia Book. I wish I did, but I don't know if the book I want has been written.

Arguement: Details, Details, Details - of each Series built...not just a lot of shiny photos & a # production list.

Chances: perhaps Zero; concerning Zagato & sub-Series Coupes, anyway.

Why: so I wouldn't wonder why I wonder why I don't know about Fulvia Models such as:

ELEBORAZIONE MICHELOTTI 'SQUADRA CORSE' No. Serie 039- DELLE 100 AUTOTRASFORMATE.

As currently shown in ebay.it Numero oggetto: 290315071507

What is this car; #39 of 100; why were 100 Fulvia badged as Michelotti's ? what did Mi'otti do with theses Fulvia to make them Mi'otti's. were they built in his factory ? or modified there ?

I am not going to Italy to buy this car..so this desire to know is not because I want a Micelotti Fulvia (which, of course I do...but; come-on, lets stay serious !) The last thing I need is yet another old Lancia; although. ....if " I had a millions dollars"....(nice song, if you don't know it)...I would buy me a farm house with a big (dry, clean) barn and....sorry, I was dreaming at my desk ! Speaking of which, I bettet get to work !!

Looks like a regular series 3 1.3Coupe with a radio (badly fitted0 - oh and a new battery!!

Guess the low milage is why it is so "special". I know when I bought my 18000 mile low mileage Series 1.5 (really a 2) i had to renew all rubber bits as they had perished without use.

If you ask me, it's a bogus. I think the seller want's to believe us it's a genuine transformation from a designer. Like André Courrèges transformed several Matra Bagheeras and later on some Bertone Suzuki jeep-a-likes...
Car brands nowadays make special editions to boost the salesfigures. The only special editions in Fulvia-period are the well known Monte Carlo and the Safari.

According to Michelotti's site (car register) were the only Lancias he put he's hand on:
Appia convertibile 57
Appia convertibile restiling 58
Appia Lusso 58
Flavia convertibile 62
Flavia 1800/1800 iniez convert 63
Lancia Carrera replica Felber
Lancia Beta Mizar 4

If you look at the spots Michelotti put his signature on the Fulvia; I think you can say that it are the most suspect zones of a rust-bucket. (bottom/doors - front bonnet/boot).
Nice try?
Am I wrong?

BUT it's a unique car! (:D

of course I had no intention to buy it or anything (except a day old 1/2 price jelly donut) any time soon.;)

Still, it must be a very valuable Fulvia; after all it doesn't actually exist ! :D
at least as described. :S

& it is No. 39 of Zero built; which certainly makes it very rare. :)

No wonder the bidding stayed at zero; which is exactly where it started. 8-)

after all, who would bid on a phantom-phulvia ?
